Open Eyes

I decided to write a song for my character Abby at her lowest point in the movie. I remember feeling that was as Abby and also as Debby. I wanted to let her know (and everyone who gets to that low point) that I understood but that things will also turn out okay. I wrote the words and the chorus and my brother Chase wrote the music and he produced a demo track in his home studio within a matter of hours. After we realized that we probably had something, Chase produced it. I incerted it on top of a video montage of Abby's lowest point and my mom pitched it to the producers who loved it. It went through all the levels of approval and is not only in the movie but also on the sound track that will be available soon. The title is called "Open Eyes". I wanted it to have the weepy feel to relate to Abby's lowest point but with a hopeful message. It was written to go along with the sad montage and I think I achieved that, but I hope it encourages the audience as well.
